China's BYD Faces Human Trafficking Allegations After Investigation in Brazil

Brazilian labor authorities have concluded that Chinese workers employed by BYD and Jinjiang Group at a site in Bahia are victims of human trafficking. However, both companies have disputed this assessment, questioning the authorities' concerns over living conditions and food hygiene. Despite this, the companies have agreed to assist and house the 163 workers in hotels until a deal to end their contracts is reached.
