China weather agency confirms: 2024 caps decade as country's hottest year on record

China has been identified as the leading emitter of greenhouse gases responsible for global warming by scientists. In 2024, the average national temperature in China reached a record high of 10.92 degrees Celsius (51.66 Fahrenheit), representing a 1.03 degree increase above the average. This year, China also experienced its warmest month on record in July, which is the hottest month in the history of observation. Additionally, 2024 was declared the warmest year on record in China, with the average national temperature surpassing the previous high set by comparable temperature recordings over 60 years ago.
