China to Send More Pandas to US for Panda Diplomacy

According to multiple reports, China is planning to send a new pair of giant pandas to the San Diego Zoo. The Chinese Wildlife Conservation Association has signed cooperation agreements with zoos in San Diego and Madrid, and if all permits and requirements are met, the two bears, a male and a female, are expected to arrive as early as summer. It's worth noting that China's Wildlife Conservation Association is also working with the National Zoo in Washington, which could result in more pandas being sent to the United States. This announcement comes after a 20-year hiatus of panda loans to the US. Chinese leader Xi Jinping had previously suggested that China could send new pandas to the country.
