China Begins Sea Trials of New Aircraft Carrier

China has commenced sea trials for its third and most sophisticated aircraft carrier, the Fujian. Built at the Jiangnan shipyard in Shanghai, the Fujian surpasses the Shandong and Liaoning in terms of size and technology. The preliminary trials will test the vessel's electrical and propulsion systems, followed by military drills. While no timeline was given for its commissioning, it is expected to enter service next year. The Fujian represents a significant advancement in China's naval capabilities, marking Beijing's push to strengthen its maritime presence and challenge the US-led naval order. The deployment of the aircraft carrier will take place in the East China Sea, approximately 130 kilometers from the Jiangnan Shipyard.
