Chad's Interim Leader Deby Declared Winner of Presidential Election

Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, the junta chief of Chad, has won the country's presidential election. According to provisional results from the National Election Management Agency and the ANGE electoral commission, Déby secured 61.03% of the votes, defeating Prime Minister Succès Masra who garnered 18.53%. The Constitutional Council is expected to confirm the results. This marks Déby's second term as transitional president, having been proclaimed by fellow army generals in 2021.
