Castaways rescued after writing "HELP" with palm leaves on remote island

Three men were stranded on an uninhabited Pacific island, Pikelot, for over a week. They had set sail from Polowat Atoll on March 31 and were approximately 100 miles northwest of their home. The Coast Guard located the mariners, by spotting their distress signal written in palm leaves that spelled out "HELP" on the white-sand beach.
