Canada and Sweden Resume Funding for UN Agency Amid Gaza Humanitarian Crisis
Israel has accused a dozen of UNRWA employees of participating in Hamas-led attacks against the country. In response to the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, Sweden and Canada have resumed funding for the United Nations agency supporting Palestinian refugees. Canada and other allies had previously paused funding to UNRWA due to allegations that some of its staff were involved in the Hamas attack against Israel on October 7, 2023.
