British nurse Lucy Letby loses bid to overturn attempted murder conviction

Lucy Letby, a 34-year-old former nurse, has been found guilty of murdering seven children and attempting to murder seven more. She was also convicted of an additional count of attempted murder at a retrial earlier this year. Letby is serving multiple life sentences with no chance of release. Her attorney argued that a retrial on a charge of attempting to kill a specific infant, identified as Child K, should not have proceeded. Despite this, the conviction for attempted murder of Child K was upheld by the Court of Appeal.
