Brazil to Host 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup

Brazil won the right to host the 2027 Women's World Cup, beating a joint bid from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany with 119 votes. This will mark the first time the tournament is held in South America. The United States and Mexico initially entered a bid but withdrew it in April. According to FIFA's technical evaluation report, Brazil ranked slightly higher than the European proposal across multiple categories, including accommodation, fan festival venues, transport infrastructure, and stadiums. Brazil's bid includes 10 stadiums used for the men's World Cup in 2014, although work is needed on the Amazonia stadium in Manaus, which has been largely unused since its construction a decade ago.
