Biden administration announces pathway to citizenship for spouses and children of US citizens

The Biden administration is set to announce a new policy aimed at protecting undocumented spouses of US citizens from deportation. According to reports, the policy will apply to individuals who have been living in the country for at least 10 years and will allow them to work legally in the US. The move could affect upwards of half a million immigrants. To qualify for the program, an immigrant must have lived in the US for 10 years as of June 24 and be married to a US citizen. Once approved, they will be able to apply for permanent residency and eventually citizenship. White House officials stated that spouses of some American citizens would be able to apply for work permits, US residency, and citizenship.
