Belgium withdraws from triathlon relay after athlete falls ill with E coli infection

Belgium has withdrawn from the Olympic mixed relay triathlon at Paris 2024 due to concerns over water quality in the Seine River. The decision was made after one of the country's triathletes, Claire Michel, fell ill with E. coli, which is believed to be linked to human sewage entering the river. Several other triathletes from Belgium and Switzerland have also fallen sick, forcing Switzerland to adjust its roster for the event.
