Baltimore Bridge Collapse
Baltimore bridge collapse: two bodies recovered from water, officials say
A cargo ship named MV Dali, approximately 300 meters long and weighing around 100,000 tonnes, collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore on early Tuesday morning. Six individuals are presumed dead, and several others were injured as a result of the incident. The bridge, which is a crucial transport link in Baltimore's industrial heartland, came down in under a minute after being struck by the ship. The state of Maryland has declared a state of emergency due to the collapse.
Two victims have been identified: Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, 35, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26, who were found in a submerged pickup truck under the collapsed structure. Four other construction workers are missing and presumed dead. The ship's crew of 22 members had earlier reported a "power issue" before the collision.
