Baltic States Complete Historic Switch to Independent Power Grid

The Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have collectively decided to sever ties with Russia's power grid, known as the Brell power grid, in a move aimed at preventing Moscow from potentially manipulating the electrical supply for its own gain. Lithuania was the first to disengage from the network, disconnecting its electricity exchange lines with Kaliningrad and Belarus at 07:43 GMT on Saturday. The transition, a two-day process, began on Saturday, with residents advised to charge their devices, stock up on food and water, and prepare for potential disruptions, as if severe weather was forecast.
