BTS's Jin Completes South Korean Military Service
Jin, the oldest member of K-pop group BTS, has been discharged from South Korea's mandatory national service after 18 months. He is the first member of the group to complete this requirement. Hundreds of thousands tuned in to a livestream of his discharge ceremony, during which he appeared emotional as he hugged colleagues at a military base. Jin emerged from the 5th Army Infantry Division's base in Yeoncheon province, where he was greeted by RM, who played BTS's hit song "Dynamite" on a saxophone. After his discharge, Jin has returned to his role as K-pop idol and participated in his first public event since being discharged, a three-hour marathon concert. Additionally, Jin has pledged to give hugs to 1,000 fans as part of a "hugathon" event.
