Azerbaijani leader asks Russia to "admit guilt" in plane crash

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has accused Russia of shooting down a plane, which crashed on Christmas Day, killing 38 of the 67 passengers onboard. Initially, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency stated that the plane crashed after colliding with birds, but Aliyev claims that the plane suffered external damage over Russian territory, with the tail of the plane being seriously damaged as a result of shelling from the ground. The Azerbaijani president has called for Russia to apologise, admit guilt, and compensate the victims.
