Australian Helicopter Forced to Take Evasive Action After Chinese Fighter Releases Flares

A Chinese military J-10 fighter jet intercepted an Australian MH-60R Seahawk helicopter, which was launched from HMAS Hobart, while it was enforcing UN Security Council sanctions against North Korea on Saturday. The incident occurred around 7:30 pm and involved the release of flares by the Chinese fighter jet in the flight path of the Australian helicopter. According to reports, the pilot had to take evasive action to avoid being hit by the flares. There were no injuries or damage reported. Australian Defense Minister described the incident as "unacceptable" and protested that the Chinese fighter jet endangered the safety of the Australian personnel.
