At least 43 people killed in fire in Bangladesh capital

According to multiple reports, a fire broke out in a popular biriyani restaurant located on Bailey Road in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, around 9:50 pm local time on Thursday. The blaze quickly spread to the upper floors, resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries. The number of deaths reported varies among sources, with the health minister stating that 43 people have died, while other reports indicate at least 33 people were declared dead at the scene and ten others died later at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. The fire was eventually brought under control according to fire officials.
