At least 32 people killed in Al-Shabaab attack on Mogadishu beach

A suicide bomber detonated a device and gunmen stormed the Lido beach area in Mogadishu, Somalia, killing at least 32 people and wounding 63 others. The attack was claimed by Al-Qaeda-linked jihadists Al-Shabaab, who have been waging an insurgency against the internationally backed federal government. The attack began late on Friday when a suicide bomber detonated a device, followed by gunfire from gunmen. Security forces said they had killed all five of the men who were shooting at revelers.
