Asteroid disintegrates over the Philippines in spectacular fireball display
A small asteroid, known as 2024 RW1, was spotted before impact and broke apart over the Philippines. The European Space Agency described the asteroid as "harmless" and stated that its impact could produce a "fireball" visible from the east coast of the Philippines. This asteroid is notable as it is only the ninth to have been spotted before impact.
