Amanda Knox Slander Conviction Is Upheld by Italy's Highest Court

Amanda Knox was initially convicted of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007, but was later acquitted. However, she was convicted of slander for falsely accusing an innocent man, Lumumba, of the crime. The Supreme Court of Italy upheld this conviction, rejecting her appeal. The length of her sentence for the slander conviction was increased by an appeal court in Florence, resulting in a total sentence of three years.
