Algeria's President Tebboune Secures Second Term in Widely Contested Election

The Constitutional Court of Algeria has confirmed Abdelmadjid Tebboune as the winner of the presidential election, with 84.3% of the vote. The court's decision was based on local voting data, which was used to address allegations of irregularities made by Tebboune's opponents. The election saw a turnout of 46.1% among the over 24 million registered voters. The preliminary results issued by the electoral authority ANIE showed Tebboune with nearly 95% support, although the official count later confirmed him as the winner with 84.3% of the vote.
