Alec Baldwin asks for dismissal of indictment in Rust movie shooting

Alec Baldwin, 65, is scheduled to stand trial in Santa Fe, New Mexico, facing two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The charges stem from an incident that occurred during filming and carry a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison for each count. In January, Baldwin was indicted for these offenses, which he has pleaded not guilty to. Defense attorneys have recently urged the judge to dismiss the grand jury indictment. Earlier this month, Hannah Gutierrez Reed was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in connection to the same incident.
